Editorial Policy

This policy explains how Social Trend Daily discovers, verifies, and publishes content.

Sourcing standards

We prioritize primary sources — official statements, original documents, government and institutional sources, and direct reporting from established news organizations. Secondary aggregation is used only for discovery and context, never republished as our own reporting. When multiple outlets cover the same event, we build a single story reference rather than duplicating near-identical articles.

Fact-checking

Factual claims in our articles are checked against at least one credible source before publication, with a preference for primary sources. Significant breaking-news claims are cross-checked against multiple independent sources where possible. Where information is unverified, we say so explicitly and separate confirmed facts from claims, allegations, and speculation.

AI use

AI tools may assist our editorial process with research organization, topic clustering, summarization drafts, headline suggestions, and internal linking. AI-assisted drafts are reviewed and verified by a human editor before publication for any story involving factual claims. We do not attribute AI-generated text to a named human reporter as though it reflects first-hand reporting they did not perform, and we do not use AI to fabricate quotes, statistics, studies, or sources.

Corrections

Material errors are corrected transparently. See our Corrections page for how updates are logged.

Commercial content

Affiliate links and sponsored content are clearly labeled and kept separate from independent editorial judgment. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Advertising pages.

Anonymous sources and sensitive topics

We use anonymous sourcing sparingly and only when the information is material and cannot reasonably be obtained on the record. Breaking news involving politics, elections, health, financial markets, crime, disasters, conflict, or allegations about named individuals receives additional editorial review before publication.
